Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve, Checking

Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve, Checking

The following test procedure is used to diagnose the fuel pressure  regulator valve.

Electrical Test

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Multimeter.

‹›  Wiring diagram.

Test requirements

‹›  The ECM Power Supply Relay (J271) fuses  OK.

‹› The Battery voltage at least 12.5 volts.

‹› All electrical consumers such as, lights and rear window defroster,  switched off.

‹› Vehicles with automatic transmission, shift selector lever into position " P" or "N".

‹› A/C switched off.

‹› Ground (GND) connections between engine/transmission/chassis OK.

‹› Ignition switched off.

Test procedure

Perform a preliminary check to verify the customers complaint. Refer  to --> [ Preliminary Check ] See: Powertrain Management/Computers and

Start diagnosis

-

Observe safety precautions.

-

Observe rules for cleanliness.

-

Disconnect the Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve electrical  harness connector from Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve (N276).

Checking internal resistance

-

Using a multimeter, check the Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve electrical terminals 1 to 2 for resistance.
