Replace O-rings between fuel injectors and fuel rail and coat them  lightly with clean motor oil.

‹› Sealing ring --> [ (Item 1) Seal ] See: Fuel Pump/Service and Repair/Fuel Rail with High Pressure Pump and Injectors Assembly Overview must

also be replaced at  fuel injectors for cylinders 1, 3 and 5.

‹› The Teflon sealing ring of fuel injector may not be oiled or greased.

Press fuel injector by hand into cylinder head bore until it stops. 

-

Check fuel injectors for correct seating and installation position  in cylinder head.

If fuel injectors for cylinders 1, 3 and 5 were removed:

-

Place fuel rail --> [ (Item 7) Fuel rail ] See: Fuel Pump/Service and Repair/Fuel Rail with High Pressure Pump and Injectors Assembly Overview
on and press evenly  on to fuel injectors.

Tighten fuel rail with new bolts uniformly. Tightening specification:  30 Nm + 90° (1/4 turn) additional turn

Install union nut - arrow - for fuel supply line  to supply line of fuel rail. To do so, counter hold on fuel supply line using  a wrench. Tightening
specification: 22 Nm.

Install intake manifold. Refer to --> [ Intake Manifold ] See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Intake Manifold/Service and Repair/Intake
Manifold. 

With Two Piece Intake Manifold

Fuel Injector

Read safety precautions before beginning work. Refer to --> [ Safety Precautions ] See: Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings/Safety
Precautions. 

‹› The Teflon sealing ring on the fuel injector must be replaced each  time the injector is removed. Refer to --> [ Fuel Injector Teflon Seal and

Support Washer ] See: Fuel Injector Teflon Seal and Support Washer.

‹› The long fuel injectors for cylinders 1, 3 and 5 must not be separated. 

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Torque wrench (VAG 1331)

‹› Tool set (T10133)

Removing

-
