Variable Induction Control Actuator: Testing and Inspection
With One Piece Intake Manifold

Intake Manifold Flap Vacuum Actuator, Checking

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Hand vacuum pump (VAS 6213) or  hand vacuum pump (VAG 1390)

Conditions

‹› Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) valve (N316) was checked using vehicle diagnosis, testing and information  system (VAS 5051 A) under

"Guided Fault Finding". 

Test Sequence

If IMRC valve (N316) is OK:

-

Disconnect vacuum hose at vacuum actuator.

When using the hand vacuum pump (VAS 6213):

-

Set the slide ring - 1 - on hand vacuum  pump (VAS 6213) to position - A - for " vacuum".

Connect hand vacuum pump to vacuum actuator -  arrow -.

-

Operate hand vacuum pump several times. Operating  plunger must move in - direction of arrow -.
