Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331-
  Note
Removal and installation is described for left side of vehicle. Follow same instructions for removal and installation of belt buckle on right side as appropriate.
Removing
–  Remove front seat → Chapter.
–  Unclip wiring-harness fastenings from seat frame.

–  Unscrew bolt -2- (40 Nm) and remove belt buckle -1- from seat frame.
  Note
t  The bolt is microencapsulated and must be renewed each time it is loosened.
t  Before a new bolt is installed, the thread of the corresponding nut must be cleaned.
Installing
–  Install in reverse order of removal.
