Mounting roof reinforcement on body

|
| – | Remove headliner → Chapter. |
| – | Cut insulation/roof reinforcements -1- and -2- into approx. 6 cm wide strips -3--dot-dash lines-, using a carpet knife. |
| – | Pull strips -3- from roof. |
| – | Trim back adhesive residues with electric cutter -V.A.G 1561 A- and blade -V.A.G 1561/20-. |
Note| If paint structure has been damaged on removal of insulation/roof reinforcements, repair paint damage according to guidelines of → Paint workshop manual. |

| – | Feed insulation/roof reinforcements -1- in -direction of arrow- into vehicle. |
| – | Position insulation/roof reinforcements -1- according to -dimension a- and -dimension b- on roof and press down across entire surface. |
| Dimension a = 370 mm from front edge of panel |
| Dimension b = centre of roof and centre of insulation/roof reinforcements |
| – | Feed insulation/roof reinforcements -2- in -direction of arrow- into vehicle. |
| – | Position insulation/roof reinforcements -2- from inside according to -dimension a- and -dimension b- on roof and press down across entire surface. |
| Dimension a = 120 mm from rear edge of panel |
| Dimension b = centre of roof and centre of insulation/roof reinforcements |
Note| The screw attachment for the roof aerial can be used as the roof centre reference point. |
