Removing and installing oil sump > < Engine oil

1 - Oil dipstick
q   The oil level must not be above the max. mark!
q   Markings → Fig..
2 - Camshaft housing
3 - Cap
q   Renew seal if damaged.
4 - Non-return valve
5 - Seal
q   Renew if damaged.
6 - Oil separator
q   To remove, intake manifold must be removed → Chapter.
q   Install with sealant D 176 501 A1
7 - 9 Nm
8 - 0.3 … 0.6 bar oil pressure switch -F1-.
q   Specified torque: 20 Nm
q   Checking oil pressure switch → Chapter.
9 - Connector
10 - Oil filter
q   Observe installation instructions on oil filter.
q   Remove and install with oil filter tool -3417-.
q   Specified torque: 20 Nm
11 - Oil sump
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   Clean sealing surface before fitting.
q   Install with silicone sealant D 176,501 A1 → Chapter
12 - 8 Nm + turn 90° further
q   Renew.
13 - Suction line
q   With integrated seal.
14 - 8 Nm
15 - Seal
q   Renew if damaged.
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
16 - 20 Nm
17 - Oil drain plug, 30 Nm
q   With attached seal.
q   Renew.
18 - Oil pump
q   Renew complete only.
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
19 - 8 Nm + turn 90° further
q   Renew.
20 - Gasket
q   Renew.

   
Markings on oil dipstick
1 - Max. mark
2 - Min. mark
a - Area above hatched field up to max. mark: Do not top up with engine oil!
b - Oil level within hatched zone: can be topped up with engine oil
c - Area from min. mark up to hatched field: Must be topped up, max. 0.5 l of engine oil!
