  Note
The battery must have a temperature of at least 10 °C.
–  Switch off ignition and all electrical consumers.
–  Check magic eye on batteries with magic eye → Chapter.
–  Check cold cranking current in amperes (A) according to DIN from indications on battery or set setting range on battery tester with printer -VAS 5097 A- according to table → Chapter „Table: cold cranking current“.
  Note
If the battery values are shown in IEC or EN/SAE instead of DIN then convert figures using table → Chapter „Table: cold cranking current“ or using table on unit.
–  Select cold cranking current via low-temperature test current selection switch → Chapter.
–  Select measuring range 80 - 379 A or 380 - 499 A with ON/OFF and functions switch → Chapter.
  Note
Batteries with cold cranking current higher than 499 A according to DIN (e.g. 520 A, 580 A or 600 A) can be temporarily tested using setting for 499 A according to DIN.
–  Connect red terminal „+“ of tester to positive terminal.
–  Connect black terminal „-“ of tester to negative terminal.
