Wheel Cylinder: Service and Repair

Wheel Cylinder

1.

Remove wheel cylinder from backing plate.

2.

Remove dust boots, pistons, and bleeder screw.

3.

Disguard piston cups and boots.  Clean parts thoroughly.

4.

Inspect cylinder bore for pitting, grooves, or any damage that would cause seals to leak.  Replace cylinder, if necessary.

5.

Fit new cups to pistons. 

6.

Coat pistons and cups with brake cylinder paste when refitting.

7.

Refit boots.

8.

Fit cylinder to backing plate.

9.

Bleed system.
