Beetle

CAUTION

Using typical sling-type towing equipment, the Beetle can only be towed with the front wheels off the ground. If extensive damage or other conditions
prevent towing with the front wheels off the ground, use towing dolly

Front hook-up

-

attach tow chains to torsion bar housing

-

place 4 x 4 against tires with spacer blocks under inner fender side panel at spare wheel well

-

place tow bar against 4 x 4

-

attach safety chains to torsion bar tubes

Rear hook-up

The Beetle rear hook-up can only be made with wheel-lifting towing equipment. Do not attempt rear hook-up with sling-type towing gear
Convertible

CAUTION

Using typical sling-type equipment, the Convertible can only be towed with the front wheels off the ground. If extensive damage or other conditions
prevent towing with front wheels off ground, use towing dolly

Front hook-up

-

hook J-hooks around strut attachment to steering knuckle. Be sure to clear brake lines

-

place 4 x 4 against tires

-

place tow bar against 4 x 4

-

attach safety chains to lower control arms

Rear hook-up

On the Convertible, rear hook-up can only be made with wheel-lifting towing equipment. Do not attempt rear hook-up with sling-type towing gear
