Wiper Switch: Service and Repair

    The windshield wiper/washer switch is incorporated into the steering column with an operating lever like the turn signal switch. The three
switches are removed as a unit but can be replaced individually.

1.

Disconnect battery ground cable.

2.

Remove steering column upper and lower shrouds.

3.

Pull off steering wheel cover and remove horn wires.

4.

Remove nut and washer securing steering wheel, center wheel and remove.

5.

Remove three screws securing turn signal and windshield/washer switches to ignition/steering lock housing flange.

6.

Disconnect wiring and remove switch.

7.

Reverse procedure to install, noting the following; lubricate turn signal cancelling ring with multi-purpose grease. Torque steering wheel nut to 36
ft. lbs.
