SHUT-OFF VALVE
Only carburetor engines of later models have a shut-off valve.
The valve disconnects the pulse-air system at a high vacuum in the intake manifold. This prevents exhaust "puffs" from occurring when shifting gears or
braking with the engine. Fig. 59.
If necessary the valve can be added to older engines equipped with a carburetor (see "COMPONENT REPLACEMENT AND REPAIR
PROCEDURES" > "PULSAIR").
