Disconnecting and Connecting Connectors

Some SRS system connectors have a spring-loaded lock.

Driver's Side Airbag

Connector Halves Connected

The driver's airbag and front passenger's airbag have a spring-loaded lock connector with a built-in short contact. When this connector is disconnected,
the power terminal and the ground terminal in the airbag connector are automatically shorted

Disconnecting

1. To release the lock, pull the spring-loaded sleeve toward the stop while holding the opposite half of the connector.
2. Then pull the connector halves apart.
