Wheel Bearing: Service and Repair

Front wheel bearing housing, servicing

WARNING!  Do not re-use any fasteners that are worn or deformed in normal use. Some fasteners are designed to be used only once, and
are unreliable and may fail if used a second time. This includes, but is not limited to, nuts, bolts, washers, circlips and cotter pins. Always
replace these fasteners with new parts where indicated, and any other time it is deemed necessary by inspection.

1 - Wheel bearing housing

Bearing seat should no longer be greased before pressing in bearing
Slot for ball joint must not be expanded to press in ball joint
After installing, check wheel alignment

2 - Plug

Vehicles with ABS: replaced by mounting sleeve for ABS wheel speed sensor

3 - Hex bolt 10 Nm (7 ft lb)
4 - Brake splash guard

5 - Wheel bearing

Diameter: 82 mm
Stepped inside diameter
Destroyed when pressing out

Installation position: larger inner diameter faces hub
