Fault table for convenience system

Notes:

  • ◆ The following table lists all faults that can be recognised by the convenience system central control unit and printed out using V.A.G 1551. The faults are listed in order according to their 5-digit code numbers.
  • ◆ Fault codes appear only on print-out.
  • ◆ Before replacing a component shown as faulty, check wiring and connectors to component as well as earth connections according to current flow diagram.
  • ◆ Once repairs have been completed, the fault memory must always be interrogated again with fault reader V.A.G 1551 and erased. The vehicle must then be relocked (with key or remote control) and the fault memory re-interrogated.
  • ◆ The fault memory records all static and sporadic faults.
When a fault occurs it is immediately identified as a static fault. If fault does not occur again it is registered as a sporadic fault. "/SP" appears on the right of the display.
  • ◆ When ignition is switched on, all existing faults are automatically reclassified as sporadic faults and only register as static faults if they still occur after testing.
  • ◆ Sporadic faults which no longer occur after 50 opening cycles are erased automatically.
  • ◆ Take care when repairing an open circuit caused by a data bus failure that the two signal wires for the respective BUS system are twisted together to avoid electromagnetic interference.
