Ultrasonic interior monitoring self-diagnosis
General notes

The ultrasonic interior monitoring is only available in combination with the anti-theft alarm.

The addition of an ultrasonic interior monitoring increases the level of protection offered by the anti-theft alarm.

The interior monitoring will set off the anti-theft alarm if an attempt is made to enter the vehicle.

Function

The ultrasonic interior monitoring consists of:

  • ◆ Transmit/receive module for interior monitoring -G303
  • ◆ Switch for interior monitoring -E183
  • ◆ Warning lamp for interior monitoring -K162

The transmit/receive module for interior monitoring -G303 monitors the vehicle interior and checks the monitoring signal.

If there is a deviation in the monitoring signal, the transmit/receive module for interior monitoring triggers the alarm via the convenience system central control unit.

The interior monitoring switch is used to switch off the interior monitoring manually when locking the vehicle, for example when a dog is left in the car.

=> Operating instructions

The sensor module features a self-diagnosis which can only be interrogated when the interior monitoring is deactivated. If malfunctions of system components occur, the fault codes are stored in the fault memory by the transmit/receive module for interior monitoring -G303. These can then be identified using fault reader V.A.G 1551 or vehicle systems tester V.A.G 1552.
