| Vehicles with a 1.6 l petrol direct injection engine (FSI) may only have an operating and display unit for air conditioner/Climatronic -E87- with a part number starting from index “D” and the hardware/software version “XX12” installed. |

| If the coolant temperature is low in vehicles with a 1.6 l petrol direct injection engine, a signal is transmitted from the operating and display unit for air conditioner/Climatronic -E87- via the data bus system to the engine control unit (but only if heating output is requested by the operating and display unit for air conditioner/Climatronic -E87-). This signal is used to change the mixture formation of the engine control unit in order to achieve better heating of the coolant. This signal is not transmitted by the operating and display unit for air conditioner/Climatronic -E87- up to hardware / software version “XX11”.
