Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 5051-, measurement mode: Multimeter, voltage measurement (20 V =)

Earth → Note
Input for signal for windscreen wiper operation (terminal “31 b”)
l  Ignition on
l  Windscreen wiper switched off
t  Less than 2 V
–  Use the current flow diagram to locate and rectify a short to positive
   
–  Switch on the windscreen wipers (speed 1)
t  approx. battery voltage
–  Using the current flow diagram, locate and rectify an open circuit in the wiring between the operating and display unit for air conditioner/Climatronic -E87- and the switch for windscreen wiper operation (terminal “31b”)

1)  Earth is at connector “D”, contacts “13” and “14”.

  Note
The photosensor is connected to connector “A” contact “8” (signal lead) and to connector “D” contact “2” (signal earth).
