Removing and installing bracket for ancillaries Removing –  Remove poly V-belt → Chapter.   Caution The air conditioner refrigerant circuit must not be opened.   Note To prevent damage to the air conditioner compressor and refrigerant pipes/hoses, ensure that the pipes and hoses are not stretched, kinked or bent.

–  Unplug electrical connector -1- for magnetic clutch of air conditioner compressor. –  Remove bolts -arrows- for air conditioner compressor. –  Tie air conditioner compressor up to lock carrier.

–  Remove bonnet → Chapter. –  If fitted, unclip bracket -1-. –  Take off engine cover panel -arrows-.

–  Detach air hose -1- from intake manifold; to do this, release retaining clip -2--arrow-, if fitted.

–  Remove poly V-belt tensioner -arrows-.

–  Remove electrical terminal B+ wire -2- from alternator. –  Unplug electrical connector -1-.

–  Remove bolts -1 and 2- for alternator.   Note t  If alternator sticks in its bracket, screw securing bolt back in again down to the last 2 turns. t  Tap carefully on bolt heads with flat side of hammer to release bushes of alternator mountings. –  Lift out alternator.

–  Unscrew bolts -1 … 6- and remove bracket for ancillaries.   Note Ignore -arrow-. Installing Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:   Note Hose connections and hoses for charge air system must be free of oil and grease before assembly. Do NOT use lubricant. –  Check that dowel sleeves -arrow- for bracket for alternator are inserted. –  Screw in bolts -1 ... 6- hand-tight. –  Tighten bolts in the sequence -1 ... 6-. –  Install air pipes/hoses with plug-in connectors → Chapter. Tightening torques
