Removing and installing engine mountings
Removing and installing engine mountings
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Support bracket -10 - 222 A-

t  Hose clip pliers -V.A.G 1921-

Removing
–  Detach bonnet → Chapter.
–  Detach activated charcoal filter solenoid valve 1 -N80--item 1- with bracket from air duct.
–  Use hose clip pliers -V.A.G 1921- to release spring-type hose clips -arrows- and detach air duct -2-.

–  Set up support bracket -10 - 222 A- on bolted flanges of wing panels.
l  The spindle is located at rear.
–  Attach hook of spindle -10 - 222 A /11- to engine lifting eye (right-side).
–  Take up weight of engine with the spindle, but do not lift.
  Note
  A10-10973
Do not loosen nut -3- unless renewing engine mounting.
–  Remove bolts -1- and -2- and detach engine mounting with support arm.
Installing
l  Tightening torque → Chapter
Install in reverse order.
