The fluid level should be between the bottom mark -arrow A- and the top mark -arrow B- on the dipstick. |
A fluid level over the mark -arrow B- is permissible when the hydraulic fluid is at operating temperature. |

| Do not extract hydraulic fluid if the fluid level is over the mark -arrow B-. |

| If the fluid level is below the range specified, the hydraulic system must be checked for leaks (Checking power steering system for leaks → Chapter). In this case it is not sufficient to merely top up the fluid. |

| If there are no leaks in the hydraulic system, top up hydraulic fluid. |

| Screw cap hand-tight onto the motor/pump unit reservoir. |
