Electrical Wiring

Seat Pan

Removing

-

Remove seat. Refer to => [ Seat ]. See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front Bucket Seat/Seat

-

Secure the seat on the fixture for seat repair ( VAS 6136). Refer to => [ Front Seat, Installing on VAS 6136 ] See: Description and
Operation/Front Manual Seats. 

-

Remove side trim on sill side. Refer to => [ Side Trim ].See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front Bucket Seat/Side Trim

-

Remove side trim on tunnel side. Refer to => [ Side Trim ].See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front Bucket Seat/Side Trim

-

Disconnect seat heater connector. Refer to => [ Drill Out Pop Rivet, Connectors ]. 

-

Drill out pop rivets on connector retaining plate using a dia. 4.0 mm drill and guide seat heating wiring harness out under retaining plate => [ Drill
Out Pop Rivet, Connectors ].

-

Free up electrical wires on seat pan.

-

Remove bolts - 1, 3, 10 -.

-

Remove bolts - 6 and 8 - and set backrest aside behind seat pan.

-

Remove seat pan.

Installing

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

-

Replace seat pan if threads are damaged or stripped.

-

Insert the bolts with locking compound.

‹› Insert with locking compound.

Backrest

Removing

-

Remove seat => [ Seat ].

-

Secure the seat on the fixture for seat repair ( VAS 6136). Refer to => [ Front Seat, Installing on VAS 6136 ] See: Description and
Operation/Front Manual Seats.

Remove side trim on sill side. Refer to => [ Side Trim ].See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front Bucket Seat/Side Trim

Remove side trim on tunnel side. Refer to => [ Side Trim ].See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front Bucket Seat/Side Trim

-

Disconnect backrest heating electrical connector. Refer to => [ Drill Out Pop Rivet, Connectors ].

-

Drill out pop rivets on connector retaining plate using a dia. 4.0 mm drill and guide backrest heating wiring harness out under retaining plate.
Refer to => [ Drill Out Pop Rivet, Connectors ].

-

Remove bolts - 1, 3, 10 -.

-

Remove bolts - 6 and 8 - and set backrest aside behind seat pan.
