Display on VAS 5051 A :
1 - Enter display group, max. input value = 255

In button field - 2 -, enter "19" for "Display group 019" and confirm input by pressing Q button.

Display on VAS 5051 A :

Read transmission fluid temperature in display field - 1 -. 

Checking and correcting transmission fluid level: 

CAUTION: Filling hose, funnel and adapter for oil filling VAS 6262 must be clean and transmission fluid must not be mixed with other oils!

Shift selector lever into "P" position and apply parking brake.

Start engine and allow it to run at idle.

Press and hold brake pedal.

-

With brake pressed, shift through all selector lever positions "P, R, N, D, S" at idle, retaining each position for at least 3 seconds.

To ensure vehicle is absolutely level, drive onto a 4-column hoist or over a service pit.

Remove center sound insulation fasteners - 1 to 3 -. 

CAUTION:

To avoid possible injury, always keep clear of fan when working in vicinity of radiator!

Fan may switch itself on automatically.

Place used oil collection and extraction device V.A.G 1782 under transmission. 

CAUTION: 
^

Wear eye protection.

^

Wear acid-resistant protective gloves.
