Note:

The threaded studs are welded to the front of the transmission oil pan.

Press bracket off from threaded studs of transmission oil pan and lay it aside up top.

If equipped, remove shield - A - at bottom of transmission - arrows -.
-
Touch vehicle ground with hand (without gloves) to discharge static electricity.
CAUTION:
^
Always discharge static electricity by touching a grounded object, e.g. vehicle ground, before touching or removing Direct Shift
Gearbox (DSG) Mechatronic J743.

Never touch the contacts in the transmission connector, under any circumstances, because static discharge could destroy the control
module along with the mechatronics unit.

Turn bayonet connection - 1 - of 20-pin connector to release it from transmission, and disconnect.

Place used oil collection and extraction device V.A.G 1782 underneath.

Loosen 5 bolts of the oil pan - arrows - in diagonal sequence.
Note:

There will still be transmission fluid in the oil pan as it cannot drain all of the fluid.

Remove oil pan together with oil pan gasket.
