Shift Cable: Procedures

Selector Lever Cable, Checking and Adjusting

Checking adjustment of selector lever cable

-

Pull selector lever out of position "P" with button pressed approximately 5 mm toward rear and hold, do not shift into " R".

-

Release selector lever.

‹› Selector lever must jump back to position "P" on its own. 

-

Adjust selector lever if necessary. 

-

Place selector lever in position "N".

-

Pull selector lever out of position "N" with button pressed approximately 5 mm toward rear and hold, do not shift into " D".

-

Release selector lever.

‹› Selector lever must jump back to position "N" on its own. 

-

Adjust selector lever if necessary. 

-

Press selector lever out of position "N" with button pressed approximately 5 mm toward front and hold, do not shift into " R".

-

Release selector lever.

‹› Selector lever must jump back to position "N" on its own. 

-

Adjust selector lever if necessary.

Adjusting selector lever cable 

-

Switch ignition off.

Vehicles with 2.0 Liter TFSI engine:

-

Disconnect electrical harness connector at Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor (G70) - 1 -.

-

Unclip air intake nozzle - front arrows -.

-

Remove engine cover - rear arrows -.

-

Make sure lock washer - A - is inserted correctly and locked downward.
