Removing and installing spoiler
  • Spoiler
    • ◆ In scope of delivery:
    • ‒ Weather strip => Item 5
    • ‒ Adhesive strip => Item 6
    • ‒ Sponge rubber sealing strip => Item 7
  • ◆ Removing
    • ‒ Detach upper trim -8-.

=> General Body Assembly, Interior; Repair group 70; Trim panels; Removing and installing tailgate trim

    • ‒ Remove Torx bolts -3- (4x).
    • ‒ Detach spoiler from tailgate -2-.

  • ◆ Installing

Notes:

  • ◆ Clean bonding surface on tailgate with petrol, treat with silicone remover and rub dry.
  • ◆ Only remove protective foil of adhesive strip after positioning on tailgate.
    • ‒ Clean the bonding surface on tailgate -2- from adhesive residues, dust and grease.
    • ‒ Check that the sealing washers -5-- are fitted on the underside of the spoiler fastening pin.
    • ‒ Position spoiler on tailgate -2- and align.
    • ‒ Remove protective foil of adhesive strip -6-. Use the aids provided on the protective film when pulling off.
    • ‒ Press spoiler down firmly.

    • ‒ Insert Torx bolts -3- (4x) with washers -4- (4x) and tighten.
    • ‒ Install upper trim -8-.

    • ◆ 8 Nm
  • Washers (4x)
  • Sealing washer
    • ◆ Bonded into spoiler -1-
  • Adhesive strip
    • ◆ Bonded into spoiler -1-
  • Sponge rubber sealing strip
    • ◆ Bonded into spoiler -1-
  • Upper trim
