For ease of illustration the seat is shown without upholstery and from outboard side.

• Backrest frame

• ◆ Removing
• ‒ Remove the seat
• ‒ Remove seat side panel => Page 72-136
• ‒ Remove seat cushion => Page72-130
• ‒ Disconnect backrest heating cable => Page 74-43
• ‒ Detach lilac/yellow cable of side airbag => Page 69-108
• ‒ Remove bolts -2- (2x).
• ‒ Unscrew bolts -5- (4x).
• ‒ Use screwdriver -3- to lever out backrest frame -1- at retainer points.

• ◆ Installing

Note:

Always replace bolts -2- and -5-.

• ‒ Insert retainer bush -7- on either side at rear retainer points in backrest such that collar faces inwards.
• ‒ Insert backrest frame -1- into seat frame -4-from rear.
• ‒ Insert bolts -2- and -5- without tightening them.
• ‒ Tighten bolts -2- and -5-.

• Bolts (2x)
• ‒ Tightening torque 23Nm
• Screwdriver
• Seat frame
• Bolts (4x)
• ‒ Tightening torque 23Nm
• ◆ Sill side longer than tunnel side.
• Bracket
• ◆ Sill side only.
• Retainer bush (2x)
