Removing and installing cover and upholstery for seat bench (non-split) > < Rear seat covers and upholstery

Rear seat covers and upholstery
Removing and installing seat cover and upholstery
    • ‒ Remove seat bench
    • ‒ Lever fastening strip out of wire frame -1-.
    • ‒ Remove wire frame -1-.
    • ‒ Remove facing -2-.
    • ‒ Roll back seat cover -5-.
    • ‒ Remove fabric cover -5- at belt buckle cut-out => Fig.1
    • ‒ Snip off staples -3- and remove seat cover -A-.
    • ‒ Use stapling tool V.A.G 1634 to fit new staples.

Vehicles with Velcro strip:

  • ‒ Pull off fabric cover at Velcro strip.

For vehicles with plastic channel:

  • ‒ → Pull the fabric cover with plastic channel -2- from the padding -1-.

For vehicles with Velcro strip and new fabric cover with plastic channel:

  • ‒ → Using a knife, cut three slots -3- of approx. 1cm each at a 45° angle towards left, in the padding -1-.
  • ‒ Use the plastic channel of the new fabric cover as a pattern for this purpose.
  •     2 -    Old Velcro strip

  • ‒ → Push the fabric cover with plastic channel -2- into the padding -1-.

For vehicles with Velcro strip and new fabric cover without Velcro strip:

  • ‒ → For new upholstery without Velcro strip -2- the old fabric cover is no longer fastened in place at this location.
