Removing and installing brake pressure sender > < Removing and installing longitudinal acceleration sender -G251

Note:

Coil connector with slip ring is integrated into housing of steering angle sender -G85.

Removing

  • ‒ Move wheels to straight ahead position.
  • ‒ Remove airbag unit and steering wheel.

=> Running Gear, Front-wheel Drive and Four-wheel Drive; Repair Group 48; Steering column and steering wheel with airbag

  • ‒ Remove driver's storage compartment.

=> General Body Repairs, Interior; Repair Group 68; Storage compartments/covers and trim panels; Removing driver's storage compartment

 
N48-0322
  • ‒ → Screw out bolts -1- and detach handle for steering column adjustment -5-.
  • ‒ Screw out bolts -2...4-.
  • ‒ Detach upper and lower steering column trim sections.

  • ‒ → Unplug connectors -1- and -2-.

 
N45-0177
  • ‒ → Carefully release upper fasteners -arrows-.
  • ‒ Carefully release lower fasteners and detach housing of coil connector with slip ring and steering angle sender from steering column switch.

Installing

Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:

  • ‒ Slide housing of coil connector with slip ring and steering angle sender onto steering column switch until all fasteners are heard to engage.
  • ‒ Break off transportation protection to remove.
 
N45-0155
  • ‒ → Move steering angle sender to centre position.
    • ‒ Yellow dot must be visible in hole -arrow 1- and the two marks
      -arrows- must be aligned
  • ‒ Install airbag unit and steering wheel.

  • ‒ Start basic setting for steering angle sender -G85.
