  Note
t  Refer to the following table to avoid unnecessary adjustment work → Chapter.
t  Lubricate all bearings with gear oil or ATF before installing (according to which lubricant the bearing runs in).
t  Do not interchange inner or outer races of bearings of the same size.
t  Check shims for burrs and damage. Install only shims which are in perfect condition.
t  Use a micrometer to measure the shims at several points.
   
1 - Input gear
q   Adjusting → Chapter
q   Only renew together with output gear
2 - Output shaft
q   Adjusting → Chapter
3 - Differential
q   Adjusting → Chapter
4 - Shim for input gear
q   Determine thickness according to table → 
5 - Shim for output shaft
q   Determine thickness according to table → 
6 - Adjuster ring for differential
7 - Tapered roller bearings for input gear
q   Renew together
q   Re-determine shim when renewing tapered roller bearings
q   Adjusting → Chapter
8 - Tapered roller bearings for output shaft
q   Renew together
q   Re-determine shim when renewing tapered roller bearings
q   Adjusting → Chapter
9 - Tapered roller bearings for differential
q   Renew together
q   Adjusting → Chapter
