Rules for cleanliness when working on the automatic gearbox
t  Thoroughly clean all joints and connections and the surrounding areas before dismantling.
t  Use cleaning fluid -D 009 401 04- to clean the gearbox and its components.
t  Use lint-free cloths for cleaning; Audi recommends the “WYPALL X70 / WORKHORSE” cloth from Kimberly-Clark Professional.
t  Seal off open lines and connections with clean plugs or sealing caps immediately.
t  Place removed parts on a clean surface and cover them over. Use sheeting and paper. Use lint-free cloths.
t  Carefully cover or seal open components if repairs cannot be completed immediately.
t  Only install clean components: do not remove replacement parts from packaging until just before installation.
t  Protect unplugged electrical connectors against dirt and moisture and make sure connections are dry when attaching.
