Removing

• ‒ Remove upper section of intake manifold .
• ‒ Remove front exhaust pipe together with catalytic converter=> Page 26-16.
• ‒ Remove support for exhaust manifold.
• ‒ Detach connector for lambda probe upstream of catalytic converter.
• ‒ Detach heat shield from exhaust manifold.

• ‒ → Unbolt cable clamp -2-.
• ‒ Loosen union nut -1-.
• ‒ Remove nuts -3- and remove connecting pipe for exhaust gas recirculation.
• ‒ Unscrew nuts on exhaust manifold and remove washers.
• ‒ Remove exhaust manifold and exhaust manifold gasket.

Installing

Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:

Always replace seals, gaskets and self-locking nuts.

• ‒ Install front exhaust pipe => Page 26-18.
• ‒ Install upper section of intake manifold => Page 15-18.
• ‒ Stress-free alignment of exhaust system => Page 26-19
