Removing and installing combination valve for secondary air system

Removing

  • ‒ Drain cooling system
  • ‒ → Remove engine cover panel -arrows-.

  • ‒ → Disconnect secondary air pump intake hose -1- from air cleaner housing.
  • ‒ Unscrew bolt -7-.
  • ‒ Disconnect air hose -2- from air mass meter.
  • ‒ Unplug electrical connector -3- from air mass meter.
  • ‒ Unscrew bolts -5- and -6-.
  • ‒ Remove air cleaner housing and pull off vent hose -4- from behind.

  • ‒ → Unplug electrical connector -3-.
  • ‒ Disconnect hoses -1- and -4-.
  • ‒ Remove air duct by releasing hose clip -2-.

  • ‒ → Unbolt coolant flange from cylinder head (left) -arrows- and place it to one side.

Note:

Leave coolant hoses connected.

 
A26-0575
  • ‒ → Unplug electrical connector -3-.
  • ‒ Disconnect vent hose -2-.
  • ‒ Unscrew bolts -1-, -4- and -5- and detach exhaust gas recirculation valve -N18.

Note:

Shown in illustration with engine removed.

  • ‒ → Disconnect hoses -2- and -3-.
  • ‒ Unscrew bolts -1- and remove combination valve for secondary air system.

Installing

Install in reverse sequence; note the following points:

Replace gaskets and seals.
