• ‒ Read measurement block display group 07, engine cool and not running

• ‒ Observe readout in display zone 1.

• If the wiring to the sensor has an open circuit, a substitute value of - 5.4 °C will be displayed.

If the display is implausible or if a substitute value of -5.4 °C is displayed:

• ‒ Connect test box V.A.G 1598/22 to wiring harness for engine control unit .
• ‒ Remove connector from injection pump =>Installation position overview, Page 23-3.

The following wiring connections are to be checked for open circuits and/or short to positive or negative.

• ‒ Rectify any open/short circuit as necessary.
