Checking throttle valve positioner without CCS > < Checking the throttle valve potentiometer without CCS

Checking the sensor for throttle valve positioner without CCS

The sensor for the throttle valve positioner (G127) informs the engine control unit of the position of the throttle valve positioner (V60).

  • ‒ Start the engine.
  • ‒ Select the function "Reading measured value block" (function 08) and Display Group 98
    .
 
→ Display readout:
Read measured value block 98    ⇒
    4.420 V        3.880 V    Idle         ADP. OK
  • ‒ Check display in display zone 2.
  • Specified value: 0.500...4.900 V.

If the specified value is not achieved:

  • ‒ Switch the ignition off.

  • ‒ → Unplug the connector from the throttle valve control unit.
  • ‒ Connect the V.A.G 1598/22 test box to the wiring harness for the engine control unit
    .

The following wiring should be checked for a short to positive or negative and an open circuit:

8-pin connector on the wiring harness contact

  • ‒ If necessary, rectify open circuit or short circuit.

=> Current Flow Diagrams, Electrical Fault Finding and Fitting Locations binder

If no wiring fault is detected:

  • ‒ Check throttle valve positioner .
