Readiness code
Readiness code
Functional description
The readiness code is an 8-digit numerical code indicating the status of the diagnostic functions of relevance to emissions.
On successful completion of the diagnostic function for a given system (e. g. fuel tank breather system), the corresponding digit in the numerical code is set from 1 to 0.
The diagnostic functions are implemented at regular intervals in the course of normal driving. Following repairs to a system of relevance to emissions, it is advisable to generate the readiness code as this ensures that these systems are operating properly. Faults detected during diagnosis are entered in the fault memory.
The readiness code is erased whenever the fault memory is erased or the power supply is interrupted.
