Motronic Injection and Ignition System (4-cyl.)

Coding control unit

If the appropriate code for the vehicle is not displayed or if the control unit has been renewed, the control unit must be coded as follows.

‒ Connect fault reader V.A.G 1551 (V.A.G 1552) and select engine electronics control unit with the "Address word" 01. When doing this the ignition must be switched on.

→ Indicated on display:

Rapid data transfer HELP

Select function XX

‒ Press keys 0 and 7 for the function "Code control unit" and confirm entry with Q key.

→ Indicated on display:

Code control unit Q

Input code number xxxxx (0-32000)

→ The control unit identification will be displayed on fault reader V.A.G 1551, as in this example.

Note:

The next time the ignition is switched on the newly entered coding will be activated.

Select function XX

‒ Press keys 0 and 6 for the function "End output" and confirm entry with the Q key.
