Checking throttle valve module -J338-
The housing for the throttle valve module contains the following components:
t  Throttle valve drive (electric power control) -G186- (this is an electric motor which is actuated by the engine control unit; it overcomes spring force to open the throttle valve).
t  Throttle valve drive angle sender 1 (electric power control) -G187-
t  Throttle valve drive angle sender 2 (electric power control) -G188-
  Note
t  The housing for the throttle valve module must not be opened.
t  The angle senders take the form of potentiometers (variable resistors). They inform the engine control unit of the position of the throttle valve and are completely independent of each other.
t  The potentiometers cannot be mechanically adjusted. The settings are made in the Basic setting mode using vehicle diagnostic and service information system -VAS 5052-.
