‒ Detach hose clamp 3094 from suction and return pipes.

‒ Start engine and, if necessary, top up fluid level in reservoir.

‒ Turn steering wheel roughly 10 times from lock to lock.

‒ Then check delivery pressure.

‒ With engine idling, close shutoff valve (max. 5 seconds) and take pressure reading.

‒ Specification for petrol engines: 85 ... 95 bar
-
‒ Specification for TDI engines: 95 ...105 bar
-
‒ Specification for Audi S3: 110 ...120 bar

◆ If reading drops below or exceeds specification, replace pump
.

◆ Always check steering system for leaks in the event of a lack of fluid in the reservoir.

◆ If a leak is found in the area of the steering pinion, start by checking pipes/pipe connections for leaks, re-tighten if necessary and wipe dry.

◆ Replace steering box in the event of leakage at steering pinion sealing ring or rack seal in steering box housing.
-
◆ To check rack seal, unfasten hose clamp of bellows and push bellows to one side.
