Sequence of operations

‒ Start dash panel insert self-diagnosis .

→ Display on VAS 5051:

‒ From list -1- select diagnosis function "07 - Encoding control unit".

→ Display on VAS 5051:

1 - Enter code word

‒ Use keypad -2- to enter 7-position control unit code as per encoding table => Page 01-127.

If a vehicle is fitted with several encodable optional extras, the first two digits of the code number are to be entered as the sum total of the individual optional extra codes.

Example:

● A3 Quattro with manual gearbox 02M
01 + 04 = 05

‒ Wait until next display appears.

→ Display on VAS 5051:

1 - Vehicle system encoding completed
2 - Control-unit identification with new code
