Compass test
The first step in the compass test is an internal check on the compass wiring. The compass directions are then checked whilst driving in a circle.
Test requirements:
l  Open flat area (maximum gradient 4°)
l  Avoid magnetic or electromagnetic fields, i.e. do not drive alongside power lines, past a line of trucks or close to reinforced-concrete structures and not where there is a lot of iron in the vicinity (e.g. scrap, steel scaffolding, etc.).
l  Speed approx. 20 ... 30 km/h
l  The test circuit ideally takes the form of a circle with a minimum diameter of 30 m; the route may also be rectangular
–  Select menu item “COMPASS” with Cursor keys.
