Fault messages on navigation system display
Fault messages on navigation system display
Indicated on display of navigation system II-D:
   
  
RDS TMC tuner:
Problem with RDS TMC
tuner link or link could
not be established

 

This fault message occurs in the following situations:
t  No CAN communication/CAN communication problems between operating electronics control unit, navigation -J402- and navigation interface -R94- (open circuit in wiring or wiring not connected)
t  Navigation interface -R94- defective
If this fault occurs, TMC traffic information cannot be received via the radio and the “Settings” menu of the traffic jam function cannot be called up.
No radio or navigation information is shown in dash panel insert display.
Indicated on display of navigation system II-D:
   
  
Dynamic navigation:
No telephone response;
dynamic function only with
ignition switched on

 

This fault message occurs in the following situations:
t  No CAN communication/CAN communication problems between operating electronics control unit, navigation -J402- and telephone/telematics control unit -J526- (open circuit in wiring or wiring not connected)
t  Telephone/telematics control unit -J256- defective
t  Ignition off (terminal 15 off)
If this fault occurs, TMC traffic information cannot be received via telephone. Dynamic navigation is not possible.

Problem with log book link
Journeys not stored
Record journeys manually
Confirm with RETURN

 

This fault message occurs in the following situations:
t  No CAN communication or problems with CAN communication between operating electronics control unit, navigation -J402- and electronic log book
t  Electronic log book not connected or defective
If this fault occurs, data can from electronic log book can neither be read into navigation system nor recorded on chip card.
No fault is entered in fault memory.
Indicated on display of navigation system II-D:
   
  
LOGBOOK
Log book not active
Activate on PC
Record journeys manually

 

This message occurs in the following situations:
t  Chip card for electronic log book not yet activated on PC following delivery of vehicle
t  This message on navigation system display does not indicate a fault
–  Inform customer accordingly.
Indicated on display of navigation system II-D:
   
Unsuitable CD

 
Insert CD-ROM
for TravelPilot DX
 

This message occurs in the following situations:
t  No version DX navigation CD inserted
–  Insert navigation CD with DX logo.
–  Inform customer accordingly.
Fault messages are displayed until fault has been eliminated or acknowledged by pressing RETURN key.
