Removing and installing sunlight penetration photosensor -G107-
  Note
t  As of 11.03, a modified sunlight penetration photosensor -G107- and a modified operating and display unit, Climatronic control unit -J255- were gradually introduced. Operating and display units, Climatronic control unit -J255- with no part number index or with part number index up to „C“ are only to be fitted with the sunlight penetration photosensor -G107- with part no. 4E0 907 539. Operating and display units, Climatronic control unit -J255- with part no. index „D“ onwards are only to be fitted with the sunlight penetration photosensor -G107- with part no. 8P0 907 539 → Electronic parts catalogue.
t  In the event of incorrect assignment between the sunlight penetration photosensor -G107- and the operating and display unit, Climatronic control unit -J255-, the operating and display unit, Climatronic control unit -J255- cannot evaluate the signal from the sunlight penetration photosensor -G107- and there will be problems with air conditioner control.
t  Vehicles with manually controlled air conditioner are not fitted with a sunlight penetration photosensor -G107-.
–  Switch off ignition.
   
–  Carefully prise the cover -A- out of the windscreen defroster vent. → General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.70
–  Carefully prise the sunlight penetration photosensor -G107--B- out of the windscreen defroster vent.
–  Unplug the connector -C-.
  Note
Take care not to interchange the sunlight penetration photosensor -G107--B- (4 electrical connections) with the LED for the central locking system and interior monitor -D- (2 electrical connections).
