Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Oil seal extractor -2085-
t  Fitting sleeve -3265-
t  Counterhold tool -3415-
t  Assembly tool -T10071-

   
Procedure
l  Cylinder head installed
–  Remove toothed belt from camshaft sprocket → Chapter.
–  Loosen camshaft sprocket using counterhold -3415-.
–  Detach camshaft sprocket.
–  Remove parallel key from camshaft.

–  To guide oil seal extractor, screw securing bolt for camshaft sprocket into camshaft as far as the stop by hand.
–  Adjust the inner part of oil seal extractor -2085- so it is flush with the outer part and lock in position with knurled screw.
–  Lubricate threaded head of oil seal extractor -2085-, place it in position and screw it into oil seal as far as possible (applying firm pressure).
–  Loosen knurled screw and turn inner section against camshaft until oil seal is pulled out.
–  Clamp flats of oil seal extractor in vice. Remove oil seal with pliers.

Installing
  Note
Do not lubricate sealing lip of oil seal.
–  Slide oil seal over guide sleeve -T10071/1-.
–  Detach guide sleeve.

–  Press in oil seal all the way using fitting sleeve -3265- and bolt -T10071/2-.
  Note
Place a large, commercially available M12 washer -item 1- below bolt to prevent wear on the press sleeve.
–  Insert parallel key into camshaft.

–  Tighten camshaft sprocket using counterhold -3415-.
  Note
If a piston is at TDC the valves could strike the piston when turning the camshaft. Pistons must therefore not be at TDC This could otherwise result in damage to valves and pistons.
–  Install toothed belt (adjust valve timing) → Anchor.
