A/C Climatronic Control Module

A/C Climatronic Control Module

‹› Not installed on vehicles with manually regulated A/C system

‹› The Climatronic Control Module (J255) display and control heads currently can be interchanged; the component protection is not in effect.

‹› If a Climatronic Control Module (J255) display and control head with active component protection (anti-theft system, introduction not yet

finalized) is installed in a different vehicle, only the functions necessary for vehicle safety can be selected, Comfort functions can no longer be

‹› Component protection (anti-theft system, introduction not yet finalized) can only be cancelled by entering specific vehicle data Vehicle Diagnosis,

‹› A/C control head Climatronic Control Module (J255 ) may also be designated only "Climatronic Control Module -J255-" in the wiring diagrams.

‹› Follow allocation exactly when replacing A/C control head Climatronic Control Module (J255).

‹› Different versions of the Climatronic Control Module (J255 Display and Control Head) in vehicles with an Air Quality Sensor (G238) (with a

button for "automatic air recirculation" - C - or a button for switching off climate controls OFF button), with and without controls for heated seats,
with and without radio navigation system (or radio with large control panel). Part number index must therefore be heeded.

‹› A Climatronic Control Module (J255) display and control head on vehicles with an Air Quality Sensor ( G238), with an "automatic recirculating

air mode" button -  C -. To switch off the A/C, press the "blower" button.  Refer to the Owner's Manual.

‹› After installing A/C control head Climatronic Control Module (J255), perform Basic Setting for A/C system according to specifications. Vehicle

‹› If a new A/C control head was installed and Basic Setting was not performed, controls of A/C control head Climatronic Control Module ( J255)

‹› Display fields and control buttons on A/C control head Climatronic Control Module (J255) are illuminated by Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs,

cannot be replaced).

‹› Covers of both temperature rotary switches of A/C control head Climatronic Control Module (J255) can be replaced separately (pull off to

remove).

‹› If Instrument Panel Interior Temperature Sensor ( G56) sends incorrect measurements, check intake grille on panel of A/C control head

Climatronic Control Module (J255) (it must not be sealed) and function of Interior Temperature Sensor Fan (V42).

‹› The selected functions are displayed by illuminated LEDs in the various buttons of A/C control head Climatronic Control Module ( J255).

‹› Always perform the following work after replacing A/C control head Climatronic Control Module (J255): Check and erase DTC memory, perform
