Transmission Oil, Draining, Changing and Filling

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Used Oil Collecting and Extracting Device (V.A.G 1782)

‹› Adapter for oil filling (VAS 6262)

‹› Protective glasses

‹› Acid-resistant protective gloves

CAUTION!
‹› When working in vicinity of cooler, always ensure clearance to fan - danger of injury!

‹› Fan can only switch on by itself.

‹› Wear protective glasses.

‹› Wear acid-resistant protective gloves.

CAUTION!
‹› Engine must not be started if there is only a small amount or no transmission oil at all in transmission after a repair or after excessive

outflow of transmission oil.

‹› In this case, perform a preliminary filling of transmission fluid for direct-shift transmission.

‹› Only transmission fluid for direct shift transmission available as replacement part must be used in the Direct Shift Transmission 02E.

Other oils can cause malfunctions or transmission failure, Part No.

Conditions

‹› Vehicle on a flat surface

‹› Selector lever in position "P".

‹› The engine is switched off.

‹› The transmission fluid filter must always be replaced when changing the transmission fluid => [ Transmission Fluid Filter ] .

‹› Observe all safety precautions, notes and test requirements for " Checking transmission fluid level and topping off"=> [ Transmission Fluid,

Checking Level and Filling ] See: Transmission Fluid, Checking Level and Filling. 

‹› Observe disposal regulations for oils

Gear Oil, Draining

Drive vehicle onto a 4-column lift or over a work pit so that it is absolutely level.

-

Replace transmission fluid filter => [ Transmission Fluid Filter ] . 

-

Remove noise insulation - 1 -=> Body

Exterior 50 Removal and Installation.
