Removing and installing coolant pump Removing –  Move lock carrier to service position → Chapter. –  Remove coolant pipe (front) → Chapter.

–  Disconnect coolant hose (bottom) at radiator -arrow- and drain off remaining coolant.

–  Disconnect the coolant hoses at thermostat housing. –  Remove bolts -arrows-. –  Remove thermostat housing.

–  Disconnect coolant hose -1-. –  Remove bolts -arrows-. –  Pull off coolant pump housing forwards (note the drive shaft for coolant pump).

–  Remove drive shaft -arrow- for coolant pump from the guide on oil pump.

–  Remove bolts -arrows-. –  Remove coolant pump -2- from housing -1-. Installing   Note t  Renew seals and O-rings. t  Secure all hose connections with the correct type of hose clips (same as original equipment) → Parts catalogue.

–  Insert drive shaft -arrow- for coolant pump in the mounting for the oil pump on engine. –  Fit coolant pump in mounting on sump (top section).   Note To fit the drive flange onto the hexagon flats of the drive shaft, use your finger to turn the impeller (access through the bottom pipe connection of coolant pump) until the coolant pump can be pressed on all the way. Remaining installation steps are carried out in reverse sequence; note the following: –  Install thermostat → Chapter. –  Install coolant pipe (front) → Chapter. –  Install lock carrier with attachments → Rep. Gr.50.

–  Allow stop for torque reaction support to rest on rubber buffer for torque reaction support under its own weight and tighten bolts -arrows-. –  Install bumper cover (front) → Rep. Gr.63. –  Fill cooling system → Anchor. –  Check headlight adjustment → Booklet803 or → Booklet805. Tightening torques
