Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Fitting sleeve -3265-
  W00-0324
Removing
–  Drain off coolant → Chapter.
–  Disconnect the coolant hoses at thermostat housing.
–  Remove bolts -arrows-.
–  Remove thermostat housing.
  A19-0398
–  Push retaining tabs down with fitting sleeve -3265- and turn approx. 180° (half a turn) -arrow-.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:

t  Renew seals.
t  Secure all hose connections with the correct type of hose clips (same as original equipment) → Parts catalogue.
–  Clean and smoothen sealing surface.
–  Insert thermostat.

l  Installation position: Vent valve -arrow- faces upwards.
–  Push retaining tabs down with fitting sleeve -3265- and turn approx. 180° (half a turn).
l  The retaining tabs must be secured beneath the lugs on connecting piece.
l  Fill cooling system → Anchor.
