Observe the following so as to avoid possible injury and/or the destruction of the injection and ignition system:

• ◆ Never touch/disconnect ignition cables with engine running or at cranking speed.
• ◆ Always switch off ignition before disconnecting and connecting ignition system wires (also applies to H.T. wires and measuring instrument leads).
• ◆ If engine is to be operated at cranking speed without it starting (e.g. compression test), unplug connectors from ignition coils and injectors. Interrogate and erase fault memory on completion of work.
• ◆ Always switch off ignition before washing engine.
• ◆ Always switch off ignition before disconnecting and connecting battery so as not to damage engine control unit.
