Removing and installing emergency battery for telematics A16 > < Renewing telematics SIM card

Initialising telephone/telematics control unitJ526
Initialising telephone/telematics control unit -J526-
Initialisation must be performed:
t  On initial commissioning before delivery to customer
t  Following change of vehicle owner
t  After renewing telematics SIM card
t  After renewing telephone/telematics control unit -J526-
During initialisation, data is exchanged between the telephone/telematics control unit -J526- and the telematics service centre.
Do not perform initialisation until you have received the reply to the release fax and the telematics SIM card has been released.
Requirements:
l  Adequate reception of D2 mobile telephone network
l  Reception of at least 4 GPS satellites
l  Only one mobile phone card in telephone handset -R37-
Initialisation procedure
–  Switch on telephone handset -R37-.
Indicated on display:
   
Service mode

–  Press Navi button repeatedly until:
   
Security code

appears in the display.
–  Enter security code (always “12345”) via keypad and confirm entry by pressing Navi button.
  Note
Security code should be stored.
–  Then enter number of telematics centre: “49 172 227 022 0” and confirm entry with Navi button.
–  Enter number of telematics provider: “2002” and confirm entry with Navi button.
The initialisation for telephone/telematics control unit -J526- will begin (approx. 3 to 6 minutes).
Afterwards the following should be indicated on display:
   
New vehicle data received

–  Confirm by pressing Navi button.
Indicated on display:
   
Telematics data received

–  Confirm by pressing Navi button.
The vehicle data transmitted can then be compared with the entries on the release fax.
–  Press arrow keys to scroll through this menu.
Press C button to return to first menu level. This completes initialisation procedure.
This completes initialisation procedure.
Dynamic navigation must be activated in the case of vehicles with navigation systems RNS 4.1 and BNS 4.0.
–  Press Tr.jam button.
–  Under menu item “Alternative route always automatic”, press
Selection: “ON”
–  Under menu item “Traffic info source”, press
Selection: “Telephone”
–  Under menu item “Traffic info enquiry rate”, press
Selection: “Always cyclical”
The units are now ready for operation.
