• ‒ Remove wiper arms.

=> Electrical System; Repair group 92

• ‒ Remove cowl panel trim.
• ‒ Pull left and right water deflectors out of retaining strips (from the bottom upwards).
• ‒ Remove sun visors on left, in centre and on right.

• ‒ Dismantle interior rear-view mirror.

• ‒ Dismantle trim on top of A-pillars.

• ‒ Using an awl, pierce adhesive bead from inside at bottom left corner of windscreen.
• ‒ → Insert cutting cord into awl and pull through into vehicle interior.

• ‒ → Route cutting cord along entire underside of windscreen.

• ‒ → Fasten end of cutting cord at bolt for securing wiper arms.

• ‒ Insert protective cover V.A.G 1474/13 between windscreen and dash panel.
• ‒ → Secure start of cutting cord in winding device and cut out first area (approx. as far as centre of windscreen).

• ‒ → Move winding device as shown in illustration and continue cutting.

• ‒ → Move winding device as shown in illustration and attach guide roller.
• ‒ Route cutting cord as illustrated.
• ‒ Cut out glass up to the point where the thread no longer runs in the relay pulley.

• ‒ → Remove guide pulley and continue cutting out window.

• ‒ → Move winding device as shown in illustration and attach guide roller in upper corner of windscreen.
• ‒ Route cutting cord as illustrated.
• ‒ Insert protective cover V.A.G 1474/11 between windscreen and moulded headlining.
• ‒ Cut out glass up to the point where the thread no longer runs in the relay pulley.
• ‒ Remove guide roller and continue cutting out window.
• ‒ Now repeat these steps in the top left and bottom left corners of the windscreen.
• ‒ Cut out the window glass completely according to these steps.
• ‒ Remove glass from window opening with double suction cups.
